Ravens Timeline:

2006
May
- The Ravens are born when Dave Burke comes up with the idea of a North East gay rugby team and starts advertising the idea around Newcastle. An informal practice session in Heaton Park on the first bank holiday weekend.

July
- A mailing list of potential members is established.

August
- The first official training session takes place at Heaton Park.

Early September
- The first team meeting takes place. Nominations are received for the team name, and Newcastle Ravens wins by a majority (the alternatives were Vultures and Raptors!)

21st September
- The Newcastle Ravens elect their first committee are elected and adopt the club constitution. The first elected committee were Chairman - Dave Burke, Secretary - Anthony Ash, Treasurer - Michael Bates, Events Officer - Steven Lyttle, and Communications Officer - Mark Dickinson.

2007
22 January
- At Northumberland Rugby Union General Committee Meeting the clubs voted unanimously to accept Newcastle Ravens RFC as an associate member of Northumberland Rugby Union

February - The Ravens host their first home tournament

May - The Ravens take part in the Newcastle Falcons Touch Rugby Tournament and are given Falcons and England player Matthew Tait as a coach/player for the day. In the first game the Ravens play against Johnny Wilkinson!

June - The Ravens receive a grant from the Lottery Awards for All

November - The Ravens have their first game wins, two on the same day, at the Thebans Rugby Clinic in Edinburgh

2008
January
- The Ravens host their second home tournament, the newly renamed Hadrian Cup. 7 teams enter, with Manchester Village Spartans taking home the trophy.

12th-16th June - The Ravens travel to Dublin for the Bingham Cup 2008.

29th November - The Ravens attended the Thebans Rugby Clinic which culminated in a Rugby 10s tournament, and the Ravens came away the winners after winning all their games!

2009
31 January
- The Ravens play their first full game against a local 'straight' team - West End RFC

May - The Ravens celebrate their 3rd birthday, enter into the 10s competition of the Union Cup and feature on BBC Look North
