We are the Newcastle Ravens RFC, the North East's first team to actively recruit from the gay community. The team is open to all men regardless of age, experience, race, religion or sexual orientation, we are committed to equality, inclusion and the greatest sport in the world.
During summer 2008 the Newcastle Ravens took part in the biggest amature Rugby World Cup, the Bingham Cup. We have also played in tournaments in Copenhagen, Belfast, Bristol, Cardiff and Edinburgh. Every year we host our home tournament here in Newcastle, The Hadrian Cup, which welcomes teams from all over the UK for a weekend of rugby.
Since 2006 we have been featured in The Sun, Daily Express, Daily Star, Daily Sport, The Journal, The Chronical, City Life, Out North East, The Crack and The Pink Paper. We have also had 5 radio interviews, featured in the three part BBC One primetime documentary on the Ulster Titans rugby team in September 2008 and featured on BBC Look North in 2009.
