A great effort from all the Newcastle Ravens who took to the field today. Though the score may not reflect just how well we played today, we are definitely progressing as a team.
With the Novos having a full 15 and the Ravens having to battle with just 13 players, today was always going to be a tough encounter. And as in our last match against the Thebans, matters were not helped by our opposition not being able to contest in the scrums.
With some great tackling in the centre of the park today from the Ravens especially Micky Wright, Darren Tucker, Kevin Reacy and Peter McDonough there was no way though centre for the Novos so they opted to send the ball wide to the wings and with an extra 2 players founds themselves with a 2 man overlap every time and were quick to capitalise on this.
It was great to see the Newcastle Ravens competing against local sides once more and having so many supporters on the side line.
