We're all heading up to Edinburgh once again for the Theban's annual Rugby Clinic. It will take place in two parts: the first, a robust training session, taking the latest rugby coaching and techniques from the SRU and using their team of coaching staff to further develop our rugby skills; the second, a Clinic tournament - a multi-game event where all the teams play (including a Barbarians team) for the prestigious New Town Quaich.

Bristol Bisons 37 - Newcastle Ravens 7
In the first game of the Edinburgh tournament Newcastle Ravens took to the field with a full set of 10 players thanks to the Steelers and Spartans for lending us a player each to take on last seasons tournament winners the Bristol Bisons. This was a great effort from all the Ravens Especially the forwards whose line-out and rucking work was awesome, but with the Bisons having more experience in the backs and taking advantage of their many substitutes, the Bisons ran out 37-7 winners. Despite a last minute try from the Ravens by Derek Wilson, the Bisons were never really in danger of losing this game.
Lowlanders 17 - Newcastle Ravens 21
The second game of the tournament saw the Ravens take on the Lowlanders from Amsterdam. With the Lowlanders ever-improving this was a very close game with end-to-end action which saw the Ravens win this very close encounter by just 4 points. With tries from Derek Wilson, Rich Daley and a first ever try from Paul Staines - it was enough to just edge it for the Ravens.
